How to Get to Qeshm and Get Around the Island
Qeshm has no bridge to the mainland, so visitors arrive by sea or by air. This page puts the ways to reach the island and move around it side by side. MyQeshm does not sell tickets or cars itself; live ferry times are in the Ferry section and orders go through Qeshmoff.
Arriving by sea
For travellers without a car the passenger ferry is the usual choice: from Bandar Abbas (Shahid Haghani pier) to Qeshm, landing at the Bahman or Zakeri pier on the island. The crossing is short, but departure times depend on sea conditions and how busy the day is.
If you have a car, vehicle-carrying lenj boats and landing craft run from Bandar Pol on the mainland to Laft on the island and take your car along. Capacity and turns are limited on busy days, so ask about that day's conditions.
The Hormuz route is for those who plan to visit Hormuz Island. For every route, check live times and status in the MyQeshm Ferry section; this page deliberately gives no times or costs.

Arriving by air
Qeshm International Airport is near the town of Dayrestan and has domestic flights. It is the fastest way for people coming from distant cities, and after landing you reach your stay by taxi or transfer.
The airport is a good number of kilometres from Qeshm city and the western sights, so allow time to reach your stay and arrange the transfer in advance. Take flight schedules only from airlines and official sources.
Arriving by road
By road you can only get as far as the mainland: the road to Bandar Abbas and then to Bandar Pol. At Bandar Pol the car is loaded onto a landing craft and you step off at Laft; after that you are on the island's roads.
If you drive from another city, plan your arrival at Bandar Pol so you catch a landing craft turn and are not stuck in holiday crowds.
Getting around on the island
Qeshm's sights are spread across the whole island and there is no regular, frequent public transport. Depending on your group and budget there are a few common options.
For longer routes such as Qeshm to Dargahan, a private taxi or your own car is easier; if you just want to see the sights, a one-day tour arranges the route and driver.
Taxi and private hire
For short trips and fixed routes; agree the destination and fare before getting in.
Rental or own car
For staying several days and touring freely; ask the owner about rental terms.
One-day tour
For people who do not know the island and want to see several sights in one day.
Tips
- Think about luggage in advance; space on ferries and taxis is limited, and with your own car you must also allow for a place on the landing craft.
- On holidays and at peak hours queues for ferries and landing craft grow long; arrive early and plan your return too.
- Wind, waves and bad weather can delay or cancel ferries and landing craft; ask about the day's status before leaving and allow extra time for delays.
- Get tickets and turns from the official source of that route and ask about change or cancellation terms; this page gives no fixed prices or times.
- If your arrival time is known, arrange the pier or airport transfer in advance.
